When batteries are left sitting idle for long periods of time, for example, in between self-drive holidays, they start to deteriorate. Connecting your battery to the CTEK battery charger when it's not in use will extend the life of your battery.
A battery that is not used very often develops congealed sediment, which is settled acid inside the battery. When this happens it makes the battery harder to start. This condensed acid also eats away at the battery cells, making it unusable.
The CTEK charger pulses to break up this sediment to maintain the charge in a battery which is sitting idle. The charger can also stay connected for months on end to maintain a battery in a caravan, silently and safely.
Running off 240 volt power, the CTEK is able to recharge a car battery overnight and can also charge all lead-acid batteries including Wet, MF, Gel and AGM, from small 1.2Ah to large 120Ah. The CTEK is weather-proof, making it safe for outdoor use and is spark free when connecting and disconnecting. There is also no need to disconnect your battery while charging, as it will not harm the sensitive electronics of your vehicle.
Not all power grids deliver constant voltage. Even minor variations in mains voltage will cause undercharging or gassing. The CTEK range of switched mode chargers operate independently of variations in mains voltage which means the batteries are charged efficiently.
The CTEK is available in two sizes. The Multi XS3600 unit is just 38mm high, 61mm wide and 165mm long, is under 500 grams and is a built-on unit. The Multi XS7000, is 48mm high, 88mm wide, 191mm long and is 800 grams.
